Director of Data Management | Global CRO | Full Time | Remote North America

 

Our client, a highly reputable mid-sized CRO headquartered in the Toronto area, is well-regarded for its tailored clinical solutions and strong partnerships with small to mid-sized biotech companies.

 

They are seeking a Director of Data Management to lead their data management team and operations. This is a pivotal leadership role that demands at least 10 years of experience in clinical data management, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity within a CRO or pharmaceutical environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement strategic data management plans across multiple clinical trials.
  • Oversee the end-to-end data management process, ensuring data quality, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including biostatistics, clinical operations, and project management, to align data processes with study goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data management professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Drive technology adoption and process optimization within the data management function.
  • Ensure successful database design, validation, and delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of clinical data management experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise in regulatory guidelines (FDA, ICH GCP) and clinical trial processes.
  • Proficiency in electronic data capture (EDC) systems and data management tools (e.g., Medidata, Oracle Clinical, or similar).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
