Is your CV ready?

Make sure your CV is straight to the point and has a clear structure (one-two page for junior, mid-level roles / 2-3 pages for senior, director roles).

Do you have experience working on a pioneering project, or maybe you recently learned a new programming language or accomplished a clinical research stage? Highlight your successes/ transferrable skills rather than list your responsibilities.

It shows the personality beyond the CV, what type of person you are, how you fit into the company culture, and vice versa.

Although the summary section is optional, it can be oe of the most important aspects of your CV. It is your chance to showcase who you are, along with your skills and strengths relevant to your specific sector or job role, which can really help you to stand out from the crowd and inject some personality into your CV.

It should be presented in reverse chronological order. Be confident to use active words such as led, organised etc., and to indicate the benefits your contributions have had, but avoid exaggerating any facts or information.

If there is anything that you are particularly proud of and doesn’t fit into another section of your CV, include it here. These don’t have to be formal achievements, they could be anything from a promotion to the completion of a project. Here you can add your key technical experience, therapeutic areas, coding languages, phases of research etc.
